Development Committee

The Development Committee is a subsidiary of St. Joseph School Finance Committee.  The committee provides an alternative source of revenue for St. Joseph School and an opportunity for our parents, alumni and friends to give a tax deductible donation.  Funds from this program cover the extra needs of the students over and above the day-to-day operations.

The primary source of funds is from the parents of St. Joseph students through annual pledges made at school registration.  The committee also hosts “friendraising” events that are tailored around the St. Joseph community to help increase fellowship between members of the school and parish and to reunite alumni.  Grant writing opportunities are also explored in order to obtain additional funds.

The development fund has made many of the recent improvements to the school campus possible.  The summer of 2009 saw the renovation and refurbishment of the School Administration Building, Teachers’ Lounge, Computer Lab, Art Room and Library.  Also added was a Student Health Room.  In prior years, projects included the complete renovation of all nine classrooms, new playground equipment, a mobile science lab and a mobile computer station with laptop computers and a data show.

The 5 year plan is to update and expand the physical plant of the school by adding new construction that will house a permanent science lab and math room for the upper grades and a new venue for extended student care as well as the possibility of a Pre-K class.

 

St. Joseph School has been a Christ-centered institution of Catholic education since 1955.  The success of the school has been realized through the hard work, dedication and sacrifices of its students, parents, faculty and staff and the gentle guidance of the Presentation Sisters over all of those fifty plus years.
